Journeys to Work

Journeys to Work is a programme specifically for parents or partners, who are currently unemployed and considering returning to work. Possibly, you are unsure about what career direction to take, or maybe you haven’t worked in many years or you have never worked and could benefit from 1:1 support and guidance in making the right choices for you and your family.

This is free and voluntary programme. Your advisor will help you to produce a ‘tailor made’ ‘Return to Work’ plan, based on your individual needs, outlining realistic and measurable steps, leading you back into work.

We can help you with the following:

  • Advice about the current employment market
  • A skills analysis to look at how your can transfer your abilities to a new job role
  • Help with creating or updating your CV
  • Help with job search
  • Support with application letters and forms
  • Training to improve your interview techniques
  • The opportunity to renew your literacy or numeracy qualifications
  • Impartial advice regarding college courses
  • ‘Better off In Work’ calculations to demonstrate ‘In Work’ financial benefits
  • Advice on childcare solutions

Funding
This is free to any unemployed parent or partner, we can assist with travel costs to centres, or fund a new set of clothes  for an interview.
