Futsal Scholarship

What is Futsal?

 

Futsal football is a worldwide 5 a- side football scholarship which progresses to more qualifications and experiences in football. The futsal football academy helps your football skills, touches and passing. Clubs are being set-up across the UK within a 2 year window.   Futsal is the only indoor football format approved by FIFA, the world’s governing body for football. It is played extensively on a worldwide stage and is reported to be the fastest growing indoor sport in the world..

I applied for the scholarship and last Saturday there was a football trial at the Futsal Arena which is in Swindon. Two of the trainers from North Wessex Training, Rachel Stokes and Lydia Davies, took me to the trials.

I was so nervous but their football coaches made me feel a lot better. As I warmed up I was less nervous and I played my heart out, all the people there showed respect to everyone and they just played the game with a good team spirit. It was a really intense trial as we all wanted to play our best to gain a place with the scholarship.

 

After the trial we all sat down as a group in a room so the coaches gave us some feedback on how well we played and what we needed to improve. It was a really good and fun trial; the arena was very nice and it all put us in the mood for playing football.

 

The trial was only one of the things we had to do for this part of the application. My trail was successful. I now have an interview on Wednesday 21st of April which hopefully  will go very well. We will all be contacted at the beginning of May and told whether we will have a placement at the scholarship or not.

 

Before I applied for the scholarship I was unsure about my future and did not know what I wanted to do with my life. I didn’t really know which career path I should follow, I don’t have a job at the moment but I have got my CSCS card and I am currently working towards my level 2 in Maths and English I will try my best to get a job because I want to try my best for this football scholarship as I now know what I want to do in the future.

 

After this scholarship if I have a placement I want to progress more to become either a professional footballer or a coach or referee which I will have to go to college or university.
