About Us

With headquarters based in Devizes, North Wessex Training was originally formed in 1988 providing a range of training programmes largely in conjunction with the Manpower Services Commission.

The company expanded in parallel with the training initiatives introduced by various funding organisations, such as the Learning Skills Council and the Department of Work & Pensions. Working closely with Job Centres and other like-minded bodies, NWT quickly became an integral part of Wiltshire's employment support structure, opening outreach centres in both Salisbury and Swindon. The company began to deliver measurable results from programmes such as Learndirect, New Deal and Train to Gain.

North Wessex Training also began developing relationships with the private sector, offering a range of management and customer service focused courses to local companies. These relationships also enabled NWT to develop an understanding of the local jobs market and place training programme clients with suitable employers. The unique and 'double-edged' position occupied by NWT is central to the company's future growth, as it seeks to successfully train and inspire individuals throughout Wiltshire to develop meaningful careers.

The addition of new training centres in Trowbridge and Chippenham in 2008 and additional premises in Swindon in 2009 illustrates NWT's growth, and the company is now a significant player within the county's employment training infrastructure.

In August 2012 Campbell Page UK, a not for profit organisation, acquired North Wessex Training, it’s first  purchase in the UK. Campbell Page UK is the European arm of Campbell Page, an Australian charity with 25 years experience of delivering government‐funded training, community, disability and employment services across Australia, with a focus on community development and empowerment.

Xavier Crimmins, CEO of Campbell Page said, “This acquisition marks a new chapterfor Campbell Page. It is a platform for growth and underpins our long‐termcommitment to the UK. With many UK communities finding it tough, Campbell Pagecan play an important role in delivering quality services to people in need”.

Together with attainment of Framework status in December 2010 and resulting inclusion in the list of preferred welfare‐to‐work providers, the acquisition presents a secure platform for Campbell Page to build a significant presence in the UK.

Mary Cripps‐Warwick, General Manager UK and Europe, Campbell Page, will take charge of the day‐to‐day running of North Wessex Training, as Managing Director. She said, “Campbell Page has a proven track record and a wealth of experience from our operations in Australia, delivering whole‐community welfare‐to‐work projects incorporating training, family services, youth services, housing provision, disability employment services and our work with diverse communities. We are keen to bring this expertise to the UK market in what is a challenging time for the welfare‐to‐work sector. The purchase of North Wessex Training is a fantastic opportunity for us and I look forward to building on their already outstanding achievments”
